Mozzarella question

Is buffalo mozzarella supposed to taste tangy? They had no normal mozzarella pearls in Sainsbury’s so I got a taste the difference buffalo one and it tasted tangy/almost sour and was a lot softer inside?
I’m not going to eat it either way because it wasn’t very nice but just interested to know if it’s gone off somehow or if it is supposed to taste different than the cows milk stuff

I’m sure it wasn’t off. Perhaps not the best brand? I find it all hit and miss.

Yes that’s totally normal for buffalo mozzarella. It is softer and creamier on the inside than other mozzarella and it is also quite tangy.

Oh phew! I was having visions of getting botulism or something

Yes totally normal! Delicious with ripe tomatoes, basil and drizzle of olive oil.
