I’m so cosy

Have spent today doing horrible cold jobs including sorting the garage and defrosting the freezer. Now I’m sitting on the sofa under a blanket with a hot water bottle. Got a cat with me, a mug of peppermint tea and my wax burner going. Mmm. January isn’t all bad Smile

Sounds lovely Smile. I am lying in bed with (mild) covid. Also cosy but anxious about various things which is ruining it for me.

Geom372 · 08/01/2022 16:34

I love getting cosy. We went for a wet and windy walk along the canal with the dog. Now home, bath running, fire and candles lit, hot water bottle and blanket ready on the sofa. Fish and chips for tea. I do love being lazy and taking advantage of the short days.

This is the right approach to January: hibernation.

Do you know, that when trees appear bare, at their most dead, in January, they are actually doing the most powerful growing...developing everything they need to power into bloom in Spring.

I think January gym bunnies have got it all wrong Smile

I'm cosy too, I spent an hour putting all the DCs puzzle pieces into ziplock bags so they could fit in one storage basket in the kallax unit and then rewarded myself with a bailey's hot chocolate and a slice of panettone.

@changeyourname11111 sorry to hear you’re poorly!

@Geom372 that sounds perfect.

@Yummypumpkin that’s lovely about the trees.

@Camomila sounds delicious!

Just been out for a bike ride with DD, now we're having hot chocolate with squirty cream and candy canes left over from Christmas. Give me cold weather over summer any time, so much easier to get cosy when you come in from the cold than it is to cool down when it's roasting.

TrivialSoul · 08/01/2022 16:53

I did a 6 mile country walk with the dog today and came home, had a warm shower and ds made us bacon sandwiches. Sitting with a nice hot choc now.

PattyPan · 08/01/2022 16:56

I'm tucked up on the sofa in my Oodie knockoff that I got for Christmas. I am in love with it! Haven't even had the heating on today because I don't need it in that Grin

Furries · 08/01/2022 17:00

I’m currently on the sofa under my heated faux fur throw - one of the best things I’ve ever spent my money on. The cat is curled up on top of it at the other end of the sofa - it is also his favourite thing I’ve ever spent my money on!

Have just put the heating on to warm the house up - once it’s warmer, I’ll be moving to the dining table to do some diamond painting. Perfect way to spend a grey, wet and miserable afternoon/evening.

Loving reading everyone’s cosy posts! I can’t bear summer, this is much more my speed Grin

Apart from getting up to prep a stew and to let DCat in and out. I've spent the whole day in bed snuggled under my duvet alternating between Mumsnet, Facebook and Netflix. DCat was rather inconvenienced when I told him there wasn't a chance in hell I was joining him outside in the garden because it was pissing it down. The goofball got drenched and was most put out when I tried drying him off with a towel. Shot back outside again to go play in his new discovered hiding place behind a hedge Although I'm not sure where it goes too so I need to be careful with that one. He's zonked out now on the end of the bed although he did need to be wrapped up inside his blanket to dry off.

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 08/01/2022 17:17

That sounds just like my house OP.

Opal8 · 08/01/2022 17:43

Chopping up my old divan
Cleaning bedroom
Taking all the rubbish to the tip
Putting new bed frame together
I've been happily lying on the bed since 2pm 😊

'I think January gym bunnies have got it all wrong'

We don't, we absolutely love a load of couch / duvet action too! January is a great time for a mix of moving lots and moving not at all Smile

nixso29 · 08/01/2022 17:48

Our first day out of isolation and we took a trip into town which lasted all of about 30 mins before we decided the real world wasn't for us just yet! Came back home and have spent the afternoon under the blankets drinking tea and MNing while DH watches football/snoozes. Only spanner in the works is that we have to go out in a bit to collect our Chinese takeaway as they don't do deliveries but its so worth it so ill deal with the cold for 20 mins!
