Birthday parties for 7yo - any ideas for outdoors?

DS will be turning 7 in the next couple of months and I was thinking about a possible birthday party, depending on how things go with Covid closer to the time. As an alternative to the usual soft play or trampoline parks etc I was wondering about something outdoors, although being winter it will probably put many parents off coming.. but anyway I just thought I’d ask.

I wondered if anyone had done any outdoor activities that could be done for a party that would appeal to most children? I absolutely can’t have a party at home - garden isn’t big enough.

Last Spring DS went to a birthday party which a local nature reserve does which involved den building and then toasting marshmallows around a campfire. The parents provided food and all the kids seemed to really enjoy it.

Is this a foolish idea? I know many are still cautious with Covid so I have been trying to think of alternatives to the usual indoor party venues, but I guess the weather could cause it to be a write-off.

Go Ape

Farm parks for children that have other activities and the facilities for having party food and cake.

Aerial Adventure? Similar to Go Ape but you are permanently attached. We did something similar in N Wales for DS's 7th birthday and it was a huge hit.

DD did Aerial Extreme for her 8th or 9th birthday too.
