7degrees here in my bedroom. Am seeking Eskimos, penguins or similar to cuddle around me... Anyone equally as cold?

No. I got up through the night to open the window. I'm still too warm.

ufucoffee · 08/01/2022 05:16

I'd suggest putting a hat on. That's what I used to sleep in when we didn't have central heating and the windows used to ice up on the inside when I was young.

My kitchen was 6.4 degrees during the day yesterday. I just dash in to make cups of tea and dash back out. Currently just heating two bedrooms as we use desks there to WFH and sleep there at night. Seems a waste to heat the rest of the house all day just for two of us.

No thermometer in this bedroom, but suspect about 15 degrees right now as use Economy 7 to maintain some heat overnight. Soon I'll have to have a shower though and bathroom will be 6-8 degrees.

A penguin would be very comfortable! Encourages me to be quick!

Thought this post was about a dating site for penguins lol. I'm currently at work and it's hot.

UnicornPoopsRainbows · 08/01/2022 05:31

Why is your bedroom so cold?

MyOtherProfile · 08/01/2022 05:33

If my bedroom was that cold I'd be putting the heating on. Mine is 16.

ufucoffee · 08/01/2022 05:38

Our heating went off at 8 o'clock last night. Current temperature of house is 15 degrees.

Magnited · 08/01/2022 06:52

Huddling is a great way to raise body temperature. In animals living in polar regions, huddling means they conserve energy for other activities such as reproduction. The best examples of huddling are deer and emperor penguins.

I don't have heating for those who keep asking. Working on it! But, our family home didn't have central heating as a child. Used to sleep with my school uniform in the bed so it was warm in the morning. Surely, I am not that old! Many others in my primary school didn't have central heating, either.

We clearly didn't die from it or I wouldn't be 50! Huddling seems like a very valid and natural response.
