Land registry search, Does the owner know?

Does anyone with experience know, If I paid for a land registry search and got the title register and title plan of a property, Does the owner of the property get notified that someone had made a search on their property? As in, Do they get an email or something from land registry letting them know someone has done a search/paid for the information on their property?

I can't say much as outing, But I think my abusive family may be trying to find me, I left many years ago so just wanted to know if they searched for my house would I know that they have?

No I’m pretty sure they don’t know.

No

You can register for alerts so that you are notified if anyone has searched for your property.

I signed up with the Land Registry for this. It was recommended as an anti fraud precaution. I think where people try and let out property that isn't there's.

I get an email every quarter that so far has always said no activity. I'm signed up for my home, my rental property and my elderly mum's home. It was free to do.

This is it.

That’s interesting @Lindy2. Clearly I was wrong. I may well sign up for that now.

Ive registered so I receive an alert if someone does a search. If you haven't registered for the service, you wouldn't know.

That Land Registry link is only for official searches though which are done mainly by solicitors. I don’t think it would show Joe Average running an online search.

I'm not so sure you do get notified if there is just a search. We have our rental property registered and always get a no action report, yet every time its advertised for rent, we get approaches from other letting agents offering to get higher rent, low charges etc. Fairly sure they get our details from LR.
I did get notification when I mistakenly entered some land in error and the owners remortgaged. So it may be you get notified when someone is taking action, iyswim.
OP, do you think they know your address? It's difficult for an individual to search on just a name looking for a property. I thought that a insolvency practitioner can do something like that, but they need a good reason.
I have always found LR helpful, it might be worth ringing them for advice.

You wouldn’t get notified. But also unless they know your address that can’t find you via the land registry. You can’t search by name, only address/post code/registered title number.

You definitely do not get notified. The property alert is to notify you of a pending sale so official searches not just nosey neighbours etc.

@Lindy2

Is this out sourced to a different company, mark something?.

Also you can pay £40. to have a higher level notification
