Reddit - can anyone help with posting - reddit mods can't!

I joined a hair loss forum on reddit a couple of months ago, and although I've been able to reply to others since day one, I haven't been able to post my own questions at all. I've messaged the mods and they didn't have a clue, so am posting here in desperation! It gives me the initial option to create a post but when I'm finished the 'post' option is greyed out, whereas the 'save to draft' option is available.

I don't even have the option of posting on the community help board as that won't allow me to create a post either!!

Have you tried making a post on a different sub?

AZFell · 07/01/2022 21:42

Try a different browser and if that doesn't work, try a different log in.

That 'karma' thing in the top right corner keeps going up. I presume that's good, but does it have to be at a certain level before you can post? I'd presume the mods would have told me that, if so.

Different subs have different rules. Weird the mods can't tell you why.

Just tried again and the message from mod said 'try again and we'll release it from jail' Confused I presume they meant the post. I did try again and still not able to post. It's a shame as I joined the hair loss forum to find others with the same problem and get some support. I may have to give up!

@RonniePickering - yes, just tried on a help forum and still the post button is greyed out. I want to ask one of the other users how they got to post, but it would mean inserting the question into a thread about hair loss and I certainly don't want to hijack or derail their thread.

Aah I hope you get it sorted.

You don't have enough karma to post?

ShadowGirls · 07/01/2022 22:02

I've been on Reddit for a few years and still don't fully understand rules for posting a new thread. I made one recently and I had to them make a comment with no less than 100 characters straightaway or the thread would be removed!

Thanks all, had another (more useful) message from a mod, so will perhaps try with a different browser. Thanks for all your replies!
