Would you recommend training pants for potty training?

Or just using normal pants? They are quite expensive so want to make sure they are worth me spending the money..

We can see this thread is quite old now, but if you’ve landed here looking for recommendations, we’ve recently updated our best potty training pants page with plenty of great options rated by Mumsnet parents, plus info on whether they're right for you. We hope you find it useful. Flowers

I never use them - I just have plenty of spare clothes handy and use a towel in the car seat. If you time it right and the child is ready then the accidents only last 2-3 days.

Yeh they are expensive. When I toilet trained LO It just didn't happen, I think we both weren't ready. I tried again a month later and he managed to get the hang of it within a week. I took away the rug, soft toys, unnecessary things that would need cleaning if weed on. I filled his bottle with water, this way could monitor how much he was drinking and would take him to the toilet every 30 mins initially then increase the time. I just bought lots of cheap underpants and soaked them at the end of the day. I did use the pullups when going out and at night just as a precaution.
