Has anyone used a career coach and was it worth it?

Has anyone worked with a coach to help them review options mid-career, and was it worth it?

I think I am having a bit of “mid life crisis” and wonder if a coach would help me decide whether I just need to change roles or complete re-evaluate my career.

The DWP paid for me to use one after I was made redundant. He said I was already doing everything I should be. So it wasn't terribly useful for me.

But if you'd like some help rewriting your cv or targetting different companies or connecting to some useful, interesting people on linkedin, then maybe.

I was thinking along the line of someone who could help me think through what I want from a career, whether I really want a ‘big’ change, what that would look like, understanding what motivates me…etc etc.

The practical stuff like CVs and stuff I can do.
