Welcome to your sixth decade!
I dreaded 50 but, so far, it is pretty great. The opportunity to work differently- more/less/not at all.This in turn means DH and I get to spend time together doing things we enjoy. DC becoming independent and giving me the chance to feel reflected pride in their achievements and do fun things with them as young adults.I value time with my friends much more as I am aware how lucky I am to have them - quality not quantity.
I have far more sense of my own style, I'm definitely better put together now than at 30.
I am very aware how lucky I am to have my health and to be financially secure in order for the above to happen, and that gratefulness is another blessing.

I met the love of my life in my fifties and now have the life I aways wanted after a really miserable marriage,

I turned 50 in October and I can honestly say that I am currently killing it. Enjoy your birthday🎂.

At 50 I decided to stop binge drinking, start exercising, walking and talking good care of myself, learnt to cook, starting taking on extra responsibilities at work instead of coasting. Not totally new life, but a better version. I'm guesstimate another 25 years of healthy body and mind (family history) so intend to make the best of it. So far, 3 years later, and despite covid, I'm having a fabulous time! It's not age, it's decisions.
