Need a new hoover, want something indestructible and reasonably priced, so gave decided to go for a Henry. I just don't know which one to go for. Any advice?

I have a bog standard Henry. He’s about 12 years old and totally indestructible. He’s used twice a day in my own home (because I have white floor tiles I’m not insane) and I also use him in my job as a cleaner so he does 6 x 4 bed houses per week and never loses suction etc bag capacity is pretty big

I've got a Henry with the pet brush head. I've two dogs and he's coping fine. Other hoovers struggle after about a year.

Not gonna lie, I love to hate my 13 year old pink sodding Hetty but it's actually the best vacuum I have ever had for performance and stamina. I find it too damn heavy to cart upstairs and the thing does not follow you around happily. It gets stuck in every bastard doorway BUT I've recently treated the tosspot to a new filter, brush and some more bags (stupid partner recently vacuumed up a load of plaster and soot...) My house is ridiculously small and narrow with stupid corners everywhere though, so maybe a nice airy, open plan house would be better suited to Heavy Hetty.

HTH 😁

I’ve had Henry, hetty and harry and I have to say I don’t think there was much differnece between them

Loopyloulou007 · 06/01/2022 22:42

I got the industrial one, purely because it came with an extra 2 meter of wire and it's yellow, so no one can miss it and trip over it. Namely me, as a right cluts. Now I can do the whole house, without unplugging it. Brilliant suction, won't be going back to any other brand.

Thank you for the replies. Sounds like the standard Henry is fine. Good to know yours are all working well.

Yes I second the red basic Henry. Absolutely brilliant. There's nothing much to go wrong with it and the cable is really long.

Standard Henry was reduced to £99 in Sainsburys last week

NatriumChloride · 07/01/2022 22:28

I have the green pet Henry. I used to have the red Henry before in my last flat (it was the landlord’s.) they’re both bloody brilliant! Mine fell down the staircase - 15 steps - and still worked perfectly. Can’t recommend them enough.

I've had many hoovers over the years and always go back to my beloved Henry. He's cheap and cheerful and does the job. I've found them the easiest to get replacement parts for as well. I had to get a replacement nozzle for mine and I'm sure I needed another brush at some point.

We've had a Henry and a Henry Extra. From what I can gather the only difference was an extra attachment.

tossco have a red Henry on a clubcard deal at £99, I was tempted, but then I'd have to hoover, so nah...I will be removing the bedroom carpet asap and then the wee robot can do the lot.

Argos have 25% off floor care atm making the Henry £90
