Ultrasonic vs Air flow ?

Hello everyone
Just looking for some advice regarding treatments at the dentist, if anyone has any personal experience and could help out. 😊
I'm booked in for a teeth cleaning session this month and have 3 choices to choose from.

  1. Manual scale and polish - FREE (not an option)
  2. Ultrasonic £50
  3. Ultrasonic with Air flow £90

Obviously I'm happy to have cleaner teeth but on a slightly vainer level I'd really like considerably whiter teeth.
Being honest, mine are quite yellow 😩
I'd decided on the £50 ultrasonic treatment but the more I look into it, the more I'm unsure how much whiter this would really make my teeth...
Compared to the £90 treatment which seems to be more focused on whitening.
If money wasn't an issue I'd go for the £90 one but I really feel this is a LOT of money to spend, even £50 is, however I don't want to leave disappointed.
ALSO I am not looking for sarky rude comments!
Just anyone who can advise if they've had these treatments and the results.
P.S : I've never had any kind of teeth whitening at the dentist done before

I have an ultrasonic toothbrush and it's brilliant. The technology really makes a difference and my teeth colour are much improved. I've never had it done at the dental hygienists before, but I'd imagine they'd use a stronger machine than just a toothbrush.

Nothing except whitening gels will change the colour. The cleaning methods you’ve mentioned will remove surface staining only

Ultrasonic will clean calculus off your teeth but it won't whiten your teeth. If you have surface level staining then airflow can be really good, most likely your teeth will be a bit whiter. However if your teeth are just yellow, with no surface staining then you most likely need proper whitening with bleach
