I’ve just heard on the radio they are to make my favourite childhood tv show into a film.
It’s hoped that several of the original cast will return.......as parents and even grandparents!!
That’s made me feel ancient lol!

Holy blast from the past Batman! I can still hear the theme music in my head 🤣

Billybagpuss · 06/01/2022 13:13

I’m really not sure it would work as a film. I watched some of the early episodes on YouTube recently I enjoyed the nostalgia but I’m not sure you could recreate the feeling

BleuJay · 06/01/2022 13:13

It will be woke nonsense and nothing like the original.

Onetraumaatatimeplease · 06/01/2022 13:15

Haha I just watched these on youtube. Grange Hill followed by childrens ward. I'm not sure about a film though. I can't imagine anything made today will be as gritty (best word I can think of) as it was. Is Phil Redmond onboard?

RedPandaWanda · 06/01/2022 13:18

I just can’t see it working either. Some things should be left in the glorious past.
Onetruamaatatimeplease I believe it is all Phil Redmonds doing!

Just say no!

Sparklingbrook · 06/01/2022 13:19

Oh no that's really not good news. Leave it in the past so we can remember it fondly. Just say no everyone!

Mrsjayy · 06/01/2022 13:20

Oh no I think that's a terrible idea bet tucker Jenkins will be the school caretaker Grin

Oh no I hate that if they brought in people that used to be in it to play the parents or something. Nooooooooooo!
WalkersAreNotTheOnlyCrisps · 06/01/2022 13:25

Ugh that's what it will be, all the old cast just happen to all have kids the same age at the same school. Needs leaving alone.

Holidaypls2022 · 06/01/2022 13:25

My DH and I randomly WhatsApp each other pictures of the early cast members Grin. My favourite kids programme.

SorrelForbes · 06/01/2022 13:29

We're currently watching all the old series on BritBox with our two primary schoolers and they love it. Many of the grittier story lines go over their heads but they love Trisha Yates and relish booing Gripper Stepson.

I'm surprised at how much I remembered from each episode!

AngusThermopyle · 06/01/2022 13:31

I bet he watched Cobra Kai and thought...
wait..a..minute... Grin

Zammo owns a locksmiths now!

SituationCritical · 06/01/2022 13:43

I absolutely loved Grange Hill and Byker Grove. Detested Blue Peter and used to hate that being on instead. The film will be awful, can imagine it already Grin

@Newnormal99

Zammo owns a locksmiths now!
Funny, just the other day my brother told me that when he lived in London (Walthamstowe?) years ago, he went to get a key cut and Zammo was behind the counter.
