Any electricians? My stick blender is making a funny sound

I have an old (six years ish) Braun stick blender that I use every day, and since yesterday it has been making an odd buzzing/little crackling sound inside the head of the stick whenever it's connected to electricity.

It works, but I'm a bit worried it might blow up in my hand.

What can it be?

6 years is a long time for an electrical item like that which You use daily. Its old and showing its tired. Get a new one.

If it fails it won’t blow up it will blow its fuse. I think it has reached the end of its life.
