What do you do before sleep?

Totally random, but I wondered what others did in that time in between getting ready for bed and going to sleep?

Scroll through mumsnet.

IsDaveThere · 05/01/2022 22:34

Read for a bit.

skyblueone · 05/01/2022 22:38

Scroll on my phone, it's a habit I'm trying to break!

WeatherwaxOn · 05/01/2022 22:40

Read

LubaLuca · 05/01/2022 22:40

Read. I usually only manage a few pages before my eyes start closing.

CaptainSpirit · 05/01/2022 22:43

I always read before bed, I like it but it's not always the best habit. More often than not I quite happily fall asleep as I'm reading, but if it's a particularly good book (I like thrillers best) then I've definitely had times where I've stayed up til the early hours wanting to know what happens next. Something rude.

TheCatShatInTheHat · 05/01/2022 22:58

Read or have sex. Sometimes both, but not at the same time.

Savingpeoplehuntingthings · 05/01/2022 23:01

Scroll around here

GiveYourHeadAWobble · 05/01/2022 23:02

I either read, scroll on Mumsnet, or put my headphones in and listen to an audiobook or a meditation.

vodkaredbullgirl · 05/01/2022 23:04

Let the dogs out for a wee, have a smoke at the door. Get into my pjs, brush teeth, have a pee. Fight the dogs for a space on MY bed.

pumpkinpie01 · 05/01/2022 23:04

A natter and sex

OhGiveUp · 05/01/2022 23:31

Text goodnight to my DH then read my book for a couple of chapters before going to sleep.

HalloHello · 05/01/2022 23:34

Scroll for 'just 5 more minutes' that turns into 30 minutes, fret about things I can't change at that moment in time, feed 4 month old at least once, sometimes twice, read a paragraph on my Kindle before clonking myself in the face with it as I've fallen asleep. Somehow said 4 month old seems to know when I've been asleep 30 mins or so and will wake me for another feed... 😭

KurtWilde · 05/01/2022 23:35

Scroll on my phone, usually fall asleep to something on Netflix

ErrolTheDragon · 05/01/2022 23:47

Put the dog to bed, make some decaf tea. Drink it in bed with a combination of MN and the Times Killer Sudoku and crossword (just the quick cryptic)

Longcovid21 · 05/01/2022 23:50

Listen to a sleep meditation usually.

Hawkins001 · 05/01/2022 23:51

Mumsnet, or Facebook

seventyminutes · 05/01/2022 23:53

Cuddle my partner and natter or stroke each other's back until we drift off together. If he wasn't here I'd probably read

IncompleteSenten · 06/01/2022 06:30

I put my snoozeband on and listen to an audiobook. I always fall asleep. I have absorbed god knows how many books in my sleep 😁

TheLovelinessOfDemons · 06/01/2022 06:38

Nothing, because it's usually straight after I've said goodnight to DS 14, so I fall into bed and go to sleep.

Bebeschitt · 06/01/2022 07:43

3 puffs of CBD and read until my eyes won't stay open.

FourEyesGood · 06/01/2022 07:45

Read (a book). I try to avoid looking at my phone.

AshGirl · 06/01/2022 07:50

Read and then a sleep meditation on the Headspace app. I've been doing them for about 18 months now and I find them so helpful for managing racing thoughts and worries that might keep me awake otherwise.
