Hey guys when did ur dc start talking? My 23modd says dozens of words but no sentences. She came communicate all the time if she wants something. For example if she’s done a wee she will say “wee” and point. If she wants more she will say more but I can’t actually have a conversation with her. If I do soak to her she will babe and say one word and babble. Advise and experience please!!

I would speak to a professional if you are worried about her speech
They all learn at their own pace try not to worry about it and don't compare her to others

Sounds similar to my 23month old, in fact your DD sounds more advanced. We've just got unintelligible babble and the odd word like 'hiya' and 'mummy'

@Greenrubber that’s what my hv said too but can’t help and speak to another mummy about it lol😂 but hopefully it’s nothing serious!
@wabbeydabbeydo ahh bless! Don’t worry hopefully she will pick up soon too we mums can’t help but worry about every little thing. Sometimes if me and dh are talking and she will repeat a word and will never say it again and it’s so funny and cute when that happens

Just read my post and so sorry about the bad spelling! Autocorrect?!
lol 😂 didn’t get the time to read and then post lol

You can Google online for the expected sounds for their age. Of they are slipping behind, it's worth listening to your gut and hiring a private speech therapist within the next year. Don't expect much assistance on the state, unless it's extremely severe. In hindsight I shouldn't have bothered waiting for an NHS assessment. It took almost a year just to get a referral. Then we received one assessment session and no further contact. The school recently paid a specialist to come in. My DD has had just 1 session at school so far. However, we started private sessions weekly six months ago and her speech has dramatically approved. I had concerns before she reached two and was proven right.

Have you looked at the two year check questionnaire? You can easily find it online. If they are not putting two words together by two eg “more milk” then I would be asking for a referral for a hearing check and to SaLT.
