Oiliness post Covid- anyone else? Products?

Hi all

Putting this here for traffic.

I had Covid a few weeks ago and since having it I am, for want of a better way of putting it, greasy. I’ve always got the occasional spot since puberty (age early 40s now) but suddenly I have got massive, cystic acne spots everywhere on my face and neck. Added to this, my hair is lank and greasy within hours of washing it. I can’t do anything with it.

I’ve changed nothing in my routine or the products I am using. I don’t know what to do. I feel and look gross. Can anyone recommend any products/supplements that will get rid of the spots or tone down the general greasiness?

I’ve googled btw and this doesn’t seem to be a major post covid symptom, but this is all that’s changed in my life.

After a cold or flu the immune system may sometimes be weakened and your skin can be out of sorts.

Stay hydrated, perhaps take a zinc supplement if your diet is lacking.

Thanks @BleuJay I’m actually already taking a therapeutic dose of zinc and various other vitamins as I have lupus and they were recommended to me by my consultant. But I’ve had lupus for 10+ years so that’s not what’s caused this. It’s definitely since I’ve had Covid. I’ve never been this greasy, not even when I was going through puberty. We’re talking shiny face within an hour of washing it, washing my hair at night and the next morning it’s so lank and greasy that dry shampoo is doing nothing.

I had similar but have a whole lot of other medical issues going on so I’m not sure it’s covid related. If you have the waxy, greasy hair which seems to get worse rather than better when you was it, the best thing I found was Alphosyl shampoo. Hope that it improves for you. It has for me although I get repeat spells periodically.
