Can anyone recommend a good app to tick off daily tasks?

Hi,

I have looked on the App Store but I can’t find what I am looking for. I’m looking for an app where I can write a list of my own tasks and tick them off when completed. Needs to be like a calendar so I can see the days and track what’s been completed. Any recommendations would be great! Thanks so much

How about paper and pencil?

Do you have an iPhone? The reminders app that comes with it is pretty good...

I my goodness there’s a horrendously sexist one - good for a laugh - look up the app FLYLADYPLUS - it’s even pink. My three daughters died laughing!

Surprisingly, a friend of mine gave it to me as she finds it useful. I feel so shocked but hey - each to their own!!

I think there are honestly much better.. so for ADD folks x

On Out of Milk you can create your own lists so could do one for each day. You can look back and see what has been completed, have different lists for different jobs etc

Something like a habit tracker might work? I used to use one called Loop

BraveMumOf4Explorers · 04/01/2022 23:27

I agree @Justkeeppedaling!
There’s evidence that writing it down is much better - more mindful and diary like... partly as using any tech can add stress, esp when you lose it or it loses power.

I have one thats literally called "to do" the symbol is a blue tick in a white circle.

You can write multiple lists & transfer them on to todays to do list. You can set a due by date on each task.
Also you can set up sub task so say a task was "paint shed" you can then sub task it to coat 1 / coat 2 etc so you can tick of each small part of a task you have done.

Another vote for to do. I’m on the free version. @CaptainCarp have you paid for an upgrade, and if so, is it worth it? I’m spending money like water atm, so trying to be frugal. But if something helps me be more organised, I’m open to it!

Thanks so much for the recommendations. For those asking why not pad and pen, phone goes with me everywhere and I do carry a bag or pad/pen etc when I’m out and about. Thanks for all replies Flowers

I use Google Keep. I have different lists - to do - shopping- present ideas- holiday ideas etc. I also save recipe links there and use labels to find quickly. I do have a bullet journal too which I use in conjunction with Keep. It works for me Smile

You are far more likely to lose a piece of paper or a notepad than you are your phone, and phones don’t randomly run out of power so I don’t think that’s a concern either.

To do - is that ms to do or another one?

I need something like this too. Several of my new year resolutions are daily tasks I wanna keep track of - eg take vitamins

Some things are weekly, some monthly.

Where most apps don't work for me is that I have terrible insomnia (see time of posting!) and so I don't have a predictable wake time/schedule? Hard to explain

I too prefer to use phone as I always have it to hand.

I'm using pen and paper to do a positivity journal too once a day

Google keep possibly interesting as can add pics can you add links too? Links would be so useful for me - ahh I see it does! Might give that a go!

@CaptainCarp is it Microsoft to do? How can you set up reoccurring tasks for each day? X

@Mummytotwonow It is the Microsoft 1... I'm not sure if you can set a task to occur every day unfortunately.

If you have a daily chores list maybe printed & laminated that stuck in the kitchen or somewhere may be better than trying to look at the phone?

I use this app too, it's really good. When you have added a task, open it up and there are some options in it, one of them is repeat and you can set it to repeat every day/once a week/month etc

You can also share lists so DH and I have a list we share that we can both add to and assign certain tasks to each other. It's really helped get us more organised!

CaptainCarp · 07/01/2022 09:45

@givememarmite thanks for that. I didn't realise this was a thing!
