House Valuation - Help!

Hi all
I intend to get a house valuation done within the next month or so. What can I expect? I’ve read a bit about it online but would love real life experiences. How far should I go with cleaning before I book it? Which things increase/decrease the value?

Please give me any tips and advice, thanks.

Make your house presentably but don't go out of the way. For a valuation they look at what rooms the house has, outside space, how new the boiler is, what similar houses in the area sell for. Things like decor etc doesn't change the value necessarily, just perhaps how quickly you'll be able to sell.

Just had 3 over before chrimmy.

They’re looking past the decor and all that, sure a well presented house when it’s about to go on the market is better but ultimately they’re looking at the rooms and the size, how recently the kitchen and bathrooms were fitted.
