Would you buy the attached bracelet for anyone other than your own mother?

Thanks (settling an argument)

Yes I would, for a close friend who just had a baby etc

(I mean I wouldn’t, as I think it’s a bit naff and not very nice, but for the purposes of the argument then yes)

Sorebum · 04/01/2022 21:48

If it was for my wife from the kids maybe?

Or as PP said for a friend that is a new mum?

FortunesFave · 04/01/2022 21:48

I wouldn't buy it for anyone! "Mama" ?? It's a bit (a lot) tacky. Sorry.

But if I did like it then no...I would not buy it for anyone but my own Mother. Maybe my daughter if she'd just become a parent.

TragoCardboardCopper · 04/01/2022 21:50

Only if they were the mother of my child.

If anyone other than DP or DM had bought me something like that when I had DD I would have been very Hmm about it.

Agree its naff though!

TheChosenTwo · 04/01/2022 21:51

I’d not buy it for anyone but could see someone giving it to a first time mum (baby’s other parent, friend, maybe even an older child). It’s quite er, oh I don’t know, naff is the word that springs to mind with it being one of those 90’s style string bracelets that I remember being popular! But it’s very personal, jewellery, some people may still love that style!

GaslighterDenier · 04/01/2022 22:15

Thanks for the insight, bracelet was just chosen at random for ease of description but it was another form of 'mama/mother' jewellery

That screams 1980's Argos. I wouldn't even buy that for my own mother.

Well you have to tell us more of the story now OP! Who was arguing about it?
