Does anyone have an iphone?

I have used samsung phones for about 15 years and recently fancied a change and got my first iphone (12 mini)

Love it so far, but one thing is annoying me and I can't seem to figure it out or why it keeps happening..

If I go to my contacts on my iphone everyone is listed there as names, But if I go to text messages or imessage a few contacts that were previously names are now showing up as just numbers.

So.. made up name and number

David is now showing as +4400000000 with no name.
Then the rest of my contacts are all names.

This is only happening with a few people and only in text/imessage.

Basically I get messages and calls sometimes from my contacts and I don't know who they are from.

How do I fix this so all my contacts are showing up as names and not numbers?

I had this a couple of months ago, but only for the people I’d added profile pictures to their contact info. I ignored it and it righted itself in a couple of weeks.

Massively unhelpful, I know, but you’re not on your own.

If you go into settings , go to iCloud and then contacts and make sure the contact tab is on. If it isn’t turn it on , if it is turn it off and then back on. Then turn your phone off and back on and it should now show contact names. This happens to me a lot especially after updates .
