If your husband is a builder/tradesman...

What socks do they wear? DH is going through socks at an alarming rate, he wears Heat Holders socks (he has nerve damage in his feet which means they get VERY cold in most weathers) and he's wearing a pair out almost every day Shock

He needs some tough, hardwearing socks that are also really warm. Any recommendations?

My husband isn't... but I work on site..I suggest Wool Sea boot socks. It's what I find last the longest

HoardingSamphireSaurus · 04/01/2022 15:15

Both DH and I wear those too.

For thinner socks I look for those with no elastic - diabetic socks.

30not13 · 04/01/2022 15:16

Wear two pairs. Reduces friction.
Oh uses Wilson CAT JCB etc with a thinner pair under

Bridgedale. Pricey but last.

Head over to Go Outdoors or Millets (or similar) and get some 4-season hiking/mountain socks - a bit more expensive initially but very warm and hardwearing.

DH wears dewalt socks

Stuckandinamess · 04/01/2022 18:01

De Walt socks (and a pack of their earplugs for me please to drown out his snoring, they are way better than any others I've tried..)

TheCanyon · 04/01/2022 18:06

Can I recommend these to help keep heat in. www.easylife.co.uk/product/nasa-thermal-gloves-or-socks-pair/35090

Dewalt over normal socks.

I clicked on this thinking it would be about using customers' toilets. Disappointing Xmas Grin

BarbaraofSeville · 04/01/2022 18:51

WTF is he doing to the socks? That's not normal.

Does he need better fitting boots, a pedicure or chiropody?

I'm sorry it's not as exciting as you'd hoped Xmas Grin

@BarbaraofSeville it's the heels that are giving out, it's ridiculous! Not really sure how or why it's happening but his boots fit fine and his feet are lovely and smooth Xmas Confused

I don't know if they're any good or practical, but I once stumbled across heel protectors online - that go inside your socks and help save the material from rough heels and/or provide extra cushioning.
