ADD/ADHD books/resources for strategies to help teenage boys

We have made an appointment to see someone about a diagnosis for ADD/ADHD for my 13 yo son. Probably should have done it earlier but he has releatively recently diagnosed underactive thyroid so the symptoms for that "masked" the ADD for a while.

Anyway, we cannot get to see anyone for 5 months (private). In the meantime please can anyone recommend any websites/books to help DH and I - and most importantly DS in how to help him cope with "humaning". Remembering things, not getting distracted, staying on focus, controlling the fidgetting (if possible). So we can adjust our parenting to help him. So he know what to think about/adjust in his approach so life is easier.

My initial thought was to just wait until we had seen the expert before reading up too much about it - but when learning it was such a wait I realise we need to do something.

And yes, I can google...but I would rather start with recommendations if possible please....rather than being sucked in by who has paid more for their SEO.

Many thanks
