Download speed

I'm trying to download a game to the computer.

It took me an hour to download 3.5 GB of data. There's 18 GB in total. It says there 3 and half hours left on the clock for downloading.

I can't wait this long. I googled it and I changed a few things but still no luck.

Any techie heads in here tonight? How can I hurry this up a bit?

There's only 20% downloaded over the past hour.

Turn off anything else connected to Wi-Fi
Pause then resume download

LGo to broadbandspeedchecker.com to verify your broadband speed. Does it match what you are paying for?

Could it be a wifi problem? Try attaching the computer directly to the modem with a data cable.

Do ctrl-alt-del to look at task manager and in the advanced options you can look at graphs there for what is using your bandwidth. Is there anything unexpected? Some apps set themselves up to hog more bandwidth than you want them to.
