I’m interested to know mumsnetters opinions on this essay. It seems to have really divided opinion.

I personally find her hard to sympathise with as it’s presented, but I also wonder what’s been left out of the narrative she gives. It’s written in an “honest and confessional” style but I’m not sure she actually is giving a truly honest account of her feelings and motivations.

@gardeniafleur you’ve got half the Twitter shares calling it “brave” and “beautiful” and “bracing” and similar things, and the other half calling her a narcissist and everything wrong with modern society and individualism.
