New forest campsite recommendations

Can anyone recommend a family friendly campsite in the New Forest area please?

Ideally it would have:

  • no noise allowed at night
  • no music at any time
  • campfires allowed
  • hot showers
  • a pub and/or shop in walking distance
  • open outside of school holidays and weekends

Holland's Wood

I've not been but think you can camp at Sandy Balls.

Your preference for campfires will limit your choice but that’s pretty normal. This link might help:

I haven’t been to the one in Milford on sea but it has a good reputation locally- my folks live in the area. It’s a vibrant village these days and has some great places to eat and drink at.

I have many happy memories of regular holidays at Meadowbank caravan park. They had tents when we went but not sure if they still do. It's next to a river and is beautiful. One of my "happy places!" No pets allowed and is very peaceful and quiet.

New forest Youth hostel have some fantastic bell tents and cabins - walking distance of a pub and you can get cheap basic meals on site if you can't be bothered to cook (pizza, bacon rolls for breakfast etc) facilities were well kept and the kitchen was really well equipped, tents & beds were fab, fine for open fires and only downside is lack of open space for ball games. I'd definitely go back there again over and above diy camping.
