NHS job application

Hi just looking for some advice from NHS workers.
I am thinking of applying for a job at my local hospital but the job is fixed term for two years, how likely is it that another job is offered after the two years?
Also the job is advertised and it states that if applicants from another health board want to apply they have to get their line managers approval and will be given on a secondment basis, does this mean the job is likely to be filled internally?

I think it depends upon what the job is. If it’s Covid, for example, hopefully it won’t be needed in 2 years time, but if it’s anything that would be considered normal work then yes.
Once you’re in the NHS it’s easier to get other jobs, and you could be looking when you know it’s getting to the end of 2 years.
I don’t think it’s any more likely to be filled internally, but often they already have someone in mind.
If you don’t t get it, keep going, don’t give up.
