Anyone else doing Veganuary and how’s it going?

Last year I got really lazy with food, eating crap and feeling horrible for it. Finding this is giving me a push to start cooking fresh, whole food again and not rely on takeout and ready meals.

My favourite finds so far are Naturli butter - I am a butter snob and it’s bloody delicious. I will probably keep this even if I eat dairy again.
Alpro yoghurts - cannot tell the difference between them and dairy yogurt.
Jackson’s seeded white bread. So good.

I’ve got a few social things coming up, so will see how easy it is when back at work and heading out with friends!

I did it three years ago and never went back to dairy or eggs! I was veggie before.

Totally agree about the butter - that one is a game changer!

Have you found a favourite milk for tea/coffee yet?

I started today, mainly to try and eat more healthily. I made a root veg stew with dumplings from the veganuary recipe book. Tasty, but I'm still hungry!

I did it two years ago and became a veggie off the back of it.
If you like Indian food Zaika is an amazing book. Also, if you want something easy look at the vegan options on Simply Cook

Isn't most bread vegan?
I am vegan and have never really bought "vegan bread" although the glaze on burger buns can be an issue.

I think it is, it’s just Jackson’s is so good I thought it worth a mention Grin

I drink black coffee already, but have some Plenish oat milk for porridge which is inoffensive.

@emmarocks I was so hungry yesterday, but it seems to have settled today.

Thanks for the recs @Chocolatecoatedkettlebell!

I hope so @Ostryga I think I might need some toast and peanut butter tonight! I eat too much so I think it will take a bit of adjustment.

My eldest DD was vegan for 2 months last year and is now veggie along with her sister so planning on cooking a meat and vegan option each night which the girls can add dairy extras to if they want. DDs extra vegan stuff seemed to add a lot to our food bill last year.
