Hotel recommendations for Dubai?

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Dubai? Not looking for super fancy but just not one with terrible reviews.

Going in February, looking to spend around £1200 for 7 days.

Quite flexible in terms of location.

Queen Elizabeth 2 - floating hotel? Something different and, naturally, by the water!

I found Dubai fascinating. Different from anywhere else. Personally I preferred the old part, but was intrigued by the modern bit. Not that I'd want to live there but I'm glad I've seen it. Didn't encounter any chavs that I was aware of!

Oman is lovely. If you want the UAE but not Dubai try Fujairah.

As for hotels in Dubai it so much depends on what sort if thing you want...beach or city? Been a while but used to love the Dusit Thani on Sheikh Zayed Road. Great Japanese restaurant nearby, easy access to the metro. For something in the older bit of Dubai the Arabian Courtyard was a budget option but lots of things to see and do and great shopping. Also a shirt walk from Al Fahidi metro station, the cultural centre etc.
Just be careful as many travel agents will try and persuade you that Sharjah and Ras Al Kheimah are Dubai....they aren't...

Le Meridian Mina Seyahi as is Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The second one is likely to be considerably more than that though.

We have been to Dubai 10 times, absolutely love it. It’s my happy place.

Expo is on at the moment so you might struggle with that budget. I’d actually recommend booking flights and hotel as a package at the moment. Better deals and covered in case of Covid cancellations.

You’ll struggle on that budget. You may get bed and breakfast for that each. Eating out is expensive. I don’t know why people rave about the shopping, brands you get here are about 30% more over there.

Have you thought about which area?
The beach/ marina or old Dubai?

I have previously stayed at Hilton on JBR which should be in your budget.
Also Jumeirah Creekside has some great offers at the minute and is a lovely hotel.

Put your dates into booking.com or travel republic

Don't go to Sharjah....my Omani friends refer to it as ' the armpit of the emirates'....nothing there at all only malls....awful place.
