Have you taken the piece of stalk out of the top? Doing that helps it to ripen. Then next to a banana or in a paper bag.

By the stalk do you mean the little dot at the top? I have some bananas arriving in about 30 mins… no paper bag would a freezer bag do?!

Place it somewhere dark with a banana. So a cupboard would work

Yes the little dot at the top, sometimes there's a brown bit there you can remove.
Freezer bag might make the fruit sweaty, just put next to or on top of the bananas.

Yes they will make friends with a banana if in a dark bag, will relax and ripen.

Put in a friendly banana with good conversation skills if you can
