Help me choose sofas - Ektorp?

I need new sofas as my current one is falling apart. The room is quite small and oddly shaped, with access into the room fairly difficult. I need a 3 seater about 220 cm and a 2 seater about 180 cm, depth about 90 cm. I need them to be delivered in sections or they won't get in through the door.
I've looked at IKEA Ektorp, but I don't think they are delivered in pieces unfortunately. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I’ve got an Ektorp. It came as a flatpack so I think you’d be fine.

Yes we have an ektorp. It was incredible how flat it came (and putting it together was no joke). It’s very comfy, though, and I don’t have to be precious about dogs and wine because a) covers so easily changed and b) total bargain.

SellFridges · 02/01/2022 13:25

Erktorp is flat when delivered as others have said, but you would still need to be able to manoeuvre the main length (seat area) of the sofa into the room. As long as you can do that, you can unpack it outside if needed.

That's very helpful thankyou. The IKEA website wasn't very clear about if it would need to be assembled.
The colour I want isn't in stock. Decisions, decisions.....

I had an Ektorp. It's a nice quality sofa. Plus once you have them, you see them everywhere!

Classic, value for money and indestructible.

It’s worth checking the spare covers in case there’s a colour you like there.

Nabru do flat pack sofas.

Turnitupto11 · 02/01/2022 14:16

I have an Ikea Kivic (I think), it came in pieces (needed it that way for the same reason), it's lovely and comfy and you can get replacement covers.

DarkDarkNight · 02/01/2022 14:19

How about Swyft or Snug? They are both ‘sofa in a box’ companies.

Ruesy · 02/01/2022 14:22

I have the ektorp, its now being replaced by the uppland.

Ektorp in conservatory. Bought a spare set of covers but still haven't used them 10 years later as the set I have on wash up brilliantly. Super comfy and looks like new though I'm not sure they are of quite the same quality now. DS has one too as it was flatpack it was easy to get into his first flat which was upstairs. His is a bit more worn than mine as it leads a harder lifeGrin

BarbaraofSeville · 02/01/2022 15:11

We had an Ektorp, I hated it. Unless you plumped the cushions daily, it looked like shit.

I don't have time for furniture that needy.

lisaandalan · 02/01/2022 16:02

It is flat packed. X

AluckyEllie · 02/01/2022 16:18

We’ve just bought a vimle from IKEA and it’s great. Getting the covers on all the bits was definitely the worse bit! They come with a ten year guarantee which is good too, and the covers/cushions can be replaced if needed

crosshatching · 02/01/2022 16:23

My twenty year old Ektorp is finally on its way out now. It's been brilliant, but we need something a bit bigger now.

KatharinaRosalie · 02/01/2022 16:31

If you check under measurements on IKEA website, it also has details for packaging. I don't know any IKEA sofas that come ready assembled.

Same. We got ours in November past. All boxed and fitted fine through the doors.

Love the sofas. Good choice OP if you go for it.

Chocolatecoatedkettlebell · 02/01/2022 19:23

Vimle here, just recently replaced the covers and it’s like new again. Also comes flat pack

MarianneFaithful · 10/01/2022 08:48

Thanks for the suggestions. I re-measured the room, and even the Ektorps were too big. I went for Stocksund in the end. They look good!

Great, hope they’re comfy!
