Bonkers (and less bonkers) reasons your town/city/village made the national press?

Recently, the town I live in made national press in the fail, guardian and BBC press due to a squirrel that was biting people and pets.

A Driver was assaulted with a sausage which was thrown through his moving vehicles car window.

I've yet to find out if it was cooked, frozen, raw or battered
