Hi everyone,

Just looking for some advice if possible. I found out my baby didn’t have a heartbeat on 28th November, (16 weeks) and I gave birth two days later (16 weeks + 2 days). I was then sent home and a couple of days later I passed some retained placenta at home and had to go back into hospital to be treated for sepsis and the remaining retained placenta, which resulted in having a D&C on 4th December.

I haven’t yet had a period and due to this, I have taken a pregnancy test which had a very faint line, so I bought a clear blue date indicator test. It says “pregnant 1-2 weeks”. Now my question is, what are the chances it is a new pregnancy? 5 weeks after the birth and about 4 after the D&C.

We are desperate for a baby and although this is very soon. I just want to know what is going on. Any advice would be great Xx

I hope someone has answers for you OP. Sorry for your loss and what you went through with the sepsis.
Just wanted to reply as I also lost my pregnancy at 16 weeks in November. I had a D&C and got my period 5 weeks after that.
I with your timeline think it could either be the previous pregnancy or a new one. Maybe the only way to know is wait a week test again?
I have to say I admire your bravery trying again right away! I am still a mess mentally. x

@AdrianeMole thank you so much for responding. To be honest, we haven’t necessarily been trying again just not been careful if that makes sense. I am just desperate to know if I can carry full term after a few issues.

Sorry to hear what you went through, it really is an unimaginable pain xxx
