Have you had therapy for food/weight related issues and did it help?

I’m sick to death of yoyo-ing.

Sometimes I’ll eat a balanced diet, train hard, and generally feel less stressed and much fitter and stronger. A couple of years ago I was in fantastic shape, physically and mentally.

Other times (like the last few months), I’m the complete opposite. Eat absolute shite, do no exercise at all apart from walking the dog, and generally feel awful about myself.

I don’t know what causes it. It’s like I reach my ‘goal’ and then just go back to square one.

My main issues are:

  1. I’ve never found a form of exercise that I genuinely enjoy.
  1. I’m a ‘live to eat’ person with a serious sweet tooth, and I also dislike a lot of fruit and veg so I find eating healthily at best challenging, at worst soul destroying.

I’m considering counselling or some form of therapy as I don’t want to carry on in this cycle. I really want to live a healthy life. Has anyone used a specialist to dig deeper into their problems with food? I feel like it would be a worthwhile investment if it helped me.
