Hair snapping and falling out

Hi,

I'm 4 months PP and my hair is falling out and snapping, to the point where it's becoming visible and incredibly thin.

I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner, I wash my hair every 2-3 days, limited my heat use, I use scrunchies and tie it loosely.

I take multi vitimans, firman d and ferrous fumerate iron tablets

I eat relative well (albeit, not over Christmas) but have started weight watchers to eat better.

Can anyone recommend any help? I'm suffering with depression and this is making me feel really insecure Sad

It's very normal after birth. During pregnancy you lose less hair as it stays in a growth phase. After birth you lose all the excess hair you retained. It will stop and hair will regrow again.

I'm not postpartum but Garnier Hair Food masks reduced breakage in my post-menopausal fine hair. I just use a tiny bit as a leave-in after normal shampoo and conditioner, so a tub lasts for ages. I don't find much difference between the 'flavours' but if I had to use just one it would be the papaya.

I've switched to a silk pillow, not putting my hair up wet, using looser hair bobbles, and drying my hair with a cotton t-shirt rather than a towel and it's all made a massive difference!!! Xxx

Mine fell out horribly after dc1, eyebrows included (which have never grown back to former glory!) To the point i was terrified of washing my hair.

Dc2, i thought i dodged it but it hit a bit later, plus i developed an eating disorder so what i did have left, fell out more.

My bleach blonde hair was like a literal rats tail where as before my plait was as thick as my wrist. I cut it off to a longish bob and dyed it brown. wash my hair once a week or sometimes longer, no more straightening or heat and its grown really fast.

I have about 5/6 inches of thick regrowth but its getting there.
