Things to Brighten Up January

I hate this time of year. I’m doing dry Jan and I start a new job on the 10th so I’ve got an extra week off work.

What can I do?

Depends what you’re into, I’d try:

Fresh flowers
Uplifting essential oil in diffuser
Bright painted nails
Yoga with Adrienne January challenge
Read a classic
A walk somewhere beautiful
Long lunch with a friend
Podcasts on topics you’re interested in
Dry brushing and epsom salt baths
Time to just be

Congratulations on your new job!

At this time of year I like baths, candles and long walks. I also sometimes like to leave up some fairy lights to brighten up the dark evenings.

Flowers, believe it or not, by the end of Jan there will be those £1 bunches of daffs. I buy loads.
A really nice manicure.
Swimming, go swimming every day on your week off, imagine you’re in a pool on holiday.

Congrats on the job, me too! Feeling nervous and excited about it, hoping it will be a cheerier environment than where I am now.
We're planning on getting out and about again walking in different places, once everything reopened that got pushed to the side a bit.
Set myself a reading challenge for the year.
Going to get some new ambient lighting for living room as feel it will be gloomy without!

Read The Echo Chamber by John Boyne. It's genuinely hilarious.

Thanks, some excellent suggestions. I’m nervous about the job but I’m trying not to think too much about it and just enjoy the time I have.
