Day out ideas for older kids in Bath/Somerset/Bristol

Hi all,

I have tweens (10, 12) and want to do something fun tomorrow after all the crap C19 isolation. Any ideas as I am so out of ideas. Done the usual Bris/Bath attractions already along with Longleat etc. Love Dunster (bit far I know) and Lyme Regis as places to go but weather is dodgy looking mostly.

Thanks if any inspirational thoughts.

What about the various escape rooms in Bristol/Bath? We’ve particularly loved Puzzlair.

Or potentially one of the climbing centres - Redpoint is one of the bigger ones.

Congo Falls adventure golf in Stockwood is fairly recently opened too & gets consistently good reviews.

Go Ape in the Forest of Dean is awesome

Thanks @UncomfortableBadger and @Banjobollo, appreciate the suggestions.

Congo Falls Adventure golf

Air hop? Or has the new indoor ice rink opened at cribbs causeway yet? If not the temporary one will probably still be there.

Congo Falls is brilliant!

Also a really good climbing centre:

Ice skating and glow golf in Victoria Park in Bath.

They were also still selling last minute panto tickets at the Hippodrome and that is such a good good show!

The tobogganing here is also good, and just down the road from Cheddar so could combine with the Gorge:

The Ice Rink (Ice Planet) is open at Cribbs, we went before Christmas. There is no outdoor rink at Cribbs this year.

FingChristmasFamily · 01/01/2022 21:07

Ah, fair enough. I wasn’t sure whether there definitely was or not. We chose to go to Bournemouth ice skating instead this year as we’re about mid way between the two.

The naval museum at Yeovil went down well with dd at that age, warning, she signed up 6 years later!

gogohm · 01/01/2022 22:16

Also have you been to where concorde is? If you don't mind going to Cardiff there's a computer games museum, check lockdown restrictions though

DobbyTheHouseElk · 02/01/2022 08:18

Fleet air arm museum. That’s where they have Concorde. Some of our Brownies slept under it as a pack holiday.

Cheddar caves are probably still closed. But they are fab. Much better than commercial wookey hole.
