I had a baby 9 months ago (march). I have PCOS and pre-baby, I had a light period once every 60 days or so.
I have been bleeding heavily from my vagina since June this year when my period returned. It has not stopped for more than 6 days in that time. I am filling a big maternity pad in 4 hours, I’ve swapped to reusable pads and pants because it was so expensive.
Anyway, I’ve been to my GP and they’ve done blood tests every month so far. Each time, my iron levels have gotten lower and lower until now where I’m on 3 iron tablets a day and my iron levels are now officially ‘dangerous’.
I’m on tranexamic acid daily and now the GP has put me on noethisterone which is a period delaying tablet that’s supposed to stop your period. The logic behind this was to ‘reset’ my cycle but if anything hung it’s made the bleeding worse.
I have an ultrasound booked for mid-jan to see if there’s any birth material left behind but surely if this was the case, I’d have bled right through from birth in March and not from June?
If anyone has had anything similar and has gotten a diagnosis, I’d love some hand holds.
