Just back.

13 degrees
Light breeze
Absolute jaw dropping my beautiful sky

Not a single runner out I passed!

It was the most wonderful start to 2022

Please share if you also ran this morning!

I'm about to! Going to run along the beach and I'm pleased to see blue sky after so many grey days!

Exhausteddog · 01/01/2022 08:41

It's still early!
I would have gone (later) if not isolating.

Donatella · 01/01/2022 08:43

Still trying to drag my arse out of bed! If parkrun had been on I would have been there but it isn't so I have to rely on my own intrinsic motivation which seems to be sadly lacking. Hunger may get me up soon so I'll probably go out once my breakfast has digested

I'm heading to Parkrun shortly. We're in Scotland so don't start till 9.30

When I was isolating (didn’t have it but children did) I went out for thirty mins at 5am. It really helped me get through the day cooped up inside

Teen dS will miss park run because he just went to do training with his new club. After 6 mile paper round this morning. He's also doing a cycling thing rest of the day.

HelenaJustina · 01/01/2022 08:50

Going to leave shortly. Can’t decide whether to go now, or leave it a bit longer and run to town to the 10am Mass.

Nonamenoplacetogo · 01/01/2022 08:55

I’m drinking my tea then heading out but it’s very wet and windy here but the sun is meant to come out soon. I’ve been thinking about trying to run everyday - usually manage 2/3 times a week. Has anyone managed to do? HNY Smile

NamiSwan · 01/01/2022 08:56

Just ran to parkrun and it is glorious! No traffic, clear beautiful skies, a balmy 12 degrees. Great start to the year!

I would love to run every day But it’s not good Better to have a couple of rest days and do yoga or weights instead

It’s practically tropical here! Will be heading out for a 5k once breakfast has been digested. I always get loads more miles in over Christmas because of the holidays.

Vegetalienne · 01/01/2022 09:13

I was out at 7am for a run. It was lovely. I ran with a friend and we saw quite a few others.

Notagardener · 01/01/2022 09:15

Luckily DC club not running till 10am

Bigbouncingbaby · 01/01/2022 09:17

Me !!!! Just done 7 miles still early though people run later here . Just a few dog walkers

countdowntonap · 01/01/2022 09:18

Was up with the dog until late last night, and so plans are now long country walk in the morning, and run in the afternoon. Snooze to follow!

zafferana · 01/01/2022 09:20

I'm going out at 10. Gorgeous day here too - blue sky for the first time in ages!

MrsColon · 01/01/2022 09:25

I'm out for a stroll with DS, beautiful morning, but my post-pneumonia lungs can't take more than a slow meander Sad

Looking forward to being well enough to run again!

Jokie · 01/01/2022 09:29

7k for me this morning. Really loved getting out there and watching the sunrise

greenweepingwillow · 01/01/2022 09:33

I would usually be out. But sat here in pjs recovering from covid instead. Sad Hoping to be able to get out for a slow one mile shuffle later in the week! Then just got to build back up. WIll give me something to focus on at least.

EarringsandLipstick · 01/01/2022 09:34

I can't run at the moment due to injury. My usual HIIT / strength & core classes aren't back till next week. Missing vigorous exercise a lot but actually have done so many beautiful walks that I'd have done less of if I was running as I'd normally be.

Next week I think I can start a mixture of walking / running to get me back to running properly soon I hope.

On a normal NYD I'd be heading out around now to run.
I'm enjoying relaxing a bit here though & planning where I'll walk to today.

catinthewindow · 01/01/2022 09:36

Still in bed 🤨😂

Later…

Mybalconyiscracking · 01/01/2022 09:38

I used to run, ran for 30 years but now I have arthritis in my feet. Don’t half envy you lot, walking doesn’t really cut it.
Make sure you have good shoes and stretch properly though!
Happy New Year!

EarringsandLipstick · 01/01/2022 09:51

walking doesn’t really cut it.

You know, I have felt this for years. Walks were like 2nd best to running! I've run for about 25 years

But, now I can't run for a couple of months (very annoying hip abductor issue - luckily can do all other exercise eg HIIT / weights) and am seeing walks with a new perspective. I've done a walk every day with DC over Christmas, from hill walks to beach walks, forest trails to easy local walks. I wouldn't have done half as many if running (I like to do a decent 10/12 km) and I've also been surprised at how 'exercised' and tired I feel.

(Still missing my weights classes tho & looking forward to them being on again next week).

NeedAHoliday2021 · 01/01/2022 09:52

It’s raining here. I’ve not run for a month but will… next week I will go.
