I've just found the crunchie I bought for myself before Christmas and hid then forgot about it.

A nice lady called Ellie at E.on has resolved an error with my gas bill meaning its now £151 rather than £697.58

Took DS (9) and nephew nearly to to beach and they paddled and twirled about all over the place.

DDs new set of guitar strings have arrived and she is happily strumming away again.

I have discovered that Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy is on BBC sounds

Being with my family (DH, DD16, and DM) on NYE, playing board/ card games

Great food that DH cooked (leg of lamb, potatoes, roast veggies) and a Charlotte for dessert made by DM

Hearing DD16 excitedly telling us all about her dreams for university and career and the plans she had made

A dear colleague and friend is sending me a gift as thanks for support

Being able to breathe a bit easier tonight after a very long and difficult asthma attack (not completely better but I am less panicky now). Hoping to start 2022 in better health

--Hugging my wonderful son goodbye as he headed off to to spend New Year in London after a nice Christmas at home.

--Blitz-cleaning the house and exorcising some of its post-Christmas staleness and clutter.

--Doing some gardening in a rare bit of sunshine.

--My nearly-six-months puppy keeping me company in the garden and getting a serious attack of the zoomies when he saw me raking leaves.

--Watching the brilliant Olivia Colman in a brilliant film on Netflix - 'The Lost Daughter'

Getting some life admin type jobs out of the way.

Trip to Costa.

15 minutes to browse in a shop, alone, with no purpose but browsing.

Tidying my clothes away (the result of it rather than the actual tidying!)

DD (9) told me she loves her Christmas presents
I cleaned the whole house for NYE
I went to the supermarket and it was quite quiet
DD has had nits. I put Lyclear all over her head, and put her in the bath. The bottom of the bath after I’d pulled the plug was a very satisfying spectacle!
I’m having a night in. Not because I have to - because I want to!

My close friend came round for coffee

My 5yo daughter who is usually shy around people she doesn't know well talked to my friend and showed her some of her toys

My friend told me she is pregnant with her first child

Mine are:

3. My BIL and my 3 year old (there’s a massive age gap between him and my dp). We’re staying with ILs and ds must’ve woken up. I heard Dbil soothing ds while I was in the toilet upstairs and it was so sweet. Dbil is only 18 and a typical clumsy teen who isn’t prefect but he’s got such a lovely temperament, especially when it comes to children and animals. It warmed my heart.

I cycled 18m there and same again back to meet my family in their holiday home.

I've been out for a lovely meal with DH and 2 DS.

I finished my 3000 piece xmas jigsaw.

I played triominoes with DS1 and backgammon with DS2. Lost all games but was fun.

I had peanut butter on toast for the first time in years.

Picking up a lovely new dress I ordered in the sales.
Chinese at our local restaurant this evening.

Telling Alexa to live long and prosper before sending fart noise notifications downstairs to my son, I've been in bed feeling like crap so the laugh really helped.
Playing HP Dobble with my husband and son with no tv or phones present.
Watching my cat sleeping whilst cuddling her own tail.
Having coffee in my favourite mug.
Notification from Ebay that my rare 1995 Barbie has been posted and should be here in a few days.

Tree and decs came down today and the house feels fresh for the new year.

Took the DC to the library this afternoon and it was empty. There was a picture treasure hunt and DD7 helped DS3 do it (she did it last week but he wasn't interested then), which was sweet.

Managed to find DD some new boots in the supermarket, and they were on sale. Also got some for DS - not on sale but still reasonable.

Spoke to my friend this afternoon and made some nice plans.

DD was cracking up laughing listening to DH read her a story tonight. I was upstairs putting DS to bed and he said, "I can hear my sister laughing!" with a big smile

My vegan macaroni cheese was a hit with my daughter. Phew.

I slept well last night (rare event and previous night was awful)
Zipped through some chores and felt lively and efficient
Had nice walk and coffee in park with DP
Made a very nice meal for us and a friend
Got message from my v dear brother who seems to have had a good day

DH stepped up and actually did an activity with DS

My colleague who is taking over a work responsibility from me has turned out to be far less shit than expected, in fact really rather good, so I feel a lot less shit about leaving
My huge fluffy puppy came for a snuggle in bed this morning and has been a very good chilled out boy all day.
Teen DD did a great job of tidying her room all by herself and it looks lovely

My 5 year old had a play date with her friend and they were so sweet and happy playing together.
We all watched Encanto together which is a lovely film.
My husband & I laughed a lot about the fact that we kindly let the kids choose lots of party food for tea and all they really ate were cheese and pretzels.
Death to 2021 on Netflix really made us laugh.
I’m enjoying our Xmas decorations for one last evening before they come down this weekend.

1. DH made us a nice dinner and DS even ate some of his - a miracle given how much of a picky eater he is

1. I painted my nails for the first time in AGES and they look lovely

1. Collected my grocery shop and was reunited with tea after having gone all day without a cuppa.

This is so lovely!
I read an idea today to write down something that's happened each week that's nice and put it in a jar, then read it at the end of the year, definitely going to try to do that.

Mine are:
Had a lie in till 8am...
Had a few friends over for a few drinks, and my parents and boyfriend, he's still just my friend to my kids, but after years of knowing him they did actually interact a bit today, I think they like him..
My DD, who recently got diagnosed with ASD and hasn't been the easiest tween, gave me a cuddle at midnight 🥰
Fireworks out the front of my house were amazing
Hootenanny is on and it's great

Giving the spare room a really good sort out.

Organising my makeup and beauty products.

Having a 30 minute shower, followed by face masks and pampering - DD is staying with ILs

Having a lie in until 10am.

Going for a meal and having a really good fillet steak that was cooked to perfection.

Follow up PCR tests were available and I ordered.

I danced the new year in with DS1 to his favourite song.

All of my Tesco shop arrived today, bar one item.

I found a Hollywood actor I can REALLY relate to.

I have realised that although I will never again settle,I can and will find love again

Watching a movie with DH and DC that made us laugh a lot

Discovered a possibly suitable childcare for my autistic dd2 so I can go back to work after many years out.
Dd2 has just fallen back asleep really quickly in her own bed (she wouldn't normally resettle if she wakes about now and would end up awake in my bed for hours).
