I've just found the crunchie I bought for myself before Christmas and hid then forgot about it.

A nice lady called Ellie at E.on has resolved an error with my gas bill meaning its now £151 rather than £697.58

Took DS (9) and nephew nearly to to beach and they paddled and twirled about all over the place.

DDs new set of guitar strings have arrived and she is happily strumming away again.

I have discovered that Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy is on BBC sounds

Got to finish work an hour early because it was quiet.

I’ve already opened a bottle of Prosecco and very nice it is too!

Also opened a box of Milk Tray that I was given for Christmas.

DH’s pcr is negative.

Booked a holiday for July (hopefully the Covid situation will be better by then).

@kittenkong sorry you're feeling miserable today. Sometimes the New Year can be hard I've certainly had some of my worst days on NYE in the past. I hope 2022 is kind to you

I had an afternoon nap which I really enjoyed 😄

Went to the bakery at Lidl and had a cheese twist thing and pizza slice for lunch, both were delicious.

Finally paid off my credit card which felt good

At Lidl I was refunded for a foul smelling beef joint I was planning to cook over Christmas. The manager was very competent and understanding.

I had a relaxing swim this morning.

DD watching Mary Poppins then singing “my heart starts beating like a big brown bear”.

A mince pie eaten while hiding behind a tree so DC wouldn’t snaffle it.

An alpaca.

DD claiming she knows where the clicky is and doing an “I know where the clicky is” dance.

Number five would be finding the clicky, but since we haven’t, the fact it’s DP’s bedtime and I’m having fish fingers and chips and Prosecco for NYE tea and going to bed long before midnight.

Just discovered a new pineapple rum that I’m rather partial to.
DH found the cheese I wanted in the shops.

My lame pony was much better this afternoon. Maybe I won't have to shoot him after all

We're having an M&S curry for dinner, so very little cooking to do.

I went through the end of month/end of year finances earlier, and we can afford a new (2nd hand) car for me in the spring.

It was my friends birthday, and she brought huge chunks of yummy cake to the stables (where the above pony lives).

We're opening that "special" bottle of wine tonight - the one we've been saving for a special occasion (the special occasion being that we've actually managed to survive 2021!!).

I had a visit from my sister and two beautiful nieces 🥰

I’m off to my brilliant neighbours garden log cabin for socially distance drinks tonight and Ive just put some sausage rolls in the oven to take 😂

I’ve got a warm cosy home

My oncologist told me yesterday that my tumour is shrinking and if it continues to be as effective until the end of chemo in mid April, I might be able to have a lumpectomy instead of mastectomy 🥳

I have the most wonderful friends and family supporting me through all this 🥰

Dd and I blitzed the house so it’s all lovely and clean.

Went in halves with my sister and bought our amazing 90 year old dad a new golf trolley.

New pair of trousers arrived- they’re too long so I will take them up and add turn ups (I love sewing)

DD’s boyfriend bought himself a loud hailer and we’ve had fun with that, it’s got lots of sound effects, I was having a chill in my bedroom and used it to request a cuppa be brought up to me.

I can hear dd and boyfriend messing about getting ready to go out tonight- he’s drying her hair and is making up all sorts of rubbish about hair care , he’s very comical.

I exercised this morning and managed more than usual.
I planted loads of bulbs at the allotment slightly later than usual
Ordered dinner so no cooking.
Watching sewing bee.
Going to get comfy in bed after dinner and read - no DP or plans tonight whatsoever.

Finished work an hour early.
Listening to the birds singing and the sun came out as l was hanging loads of washing outside.
My sons girlfriends Mum baked us a whole load of individual cakes, as l am having family around.
My new hairband came from Etsy, and l absolutely love it.
Most of all, my youngest son is working out downstairs, this time last year he was struggling with anxiety and low mood, totally unmotivated with regards to everything, he has since done a full circle, l can' t tell you how happy that makes me.

1. Finished reading book number 80 of the year today.
2. M&S Dine in for two for dinner later
3. DH cleaned the bathrooms
4. Cuddled up on the couch watching Hercules with DC just now
5. Looking forward to catching up with some family tomorrow finally since we were isolating over Christmas

Took 5yo dts to park and 2 very kind 10ish yo girls played with them for ages which they were thrilled about.
Dp suggested Indian takeaway for tea
Dog is back to full health ( recovering from op)
Dad also recovering from op felt well enough to go out for a drink
Found superb pair of jeans in sales online and got the last pair in my size
Happy New year

1. We spent a few hours with our daughter which was amazing.
2. My son is here after spending the night with his Grandma
3. We saw spiderman after my previous cock up
4. I started my new Pokèmon game
5. My son did a ‘wonderful’ performance of his favourite scene in Shrek

My pension documents have been emailed so plans starting to come together.

I’ve just made some lovely spiced biscuits with 3.5yo DD. I’ve been baking with her since she was tiny, when she used to pretty much just chuck flour around and lick stuff, and now she’s such a grand little helper she’s genuinely a joy to bake with. The biscuits turned out pretty good too!

My DH usually has to work NYE but he should be home by about 7.30 so we’ll have dinner and a drink together in front of the tv.

I bought myself some perfume with my Christmas money and it arrived today!

I had leftover takeaway curry and dal for lunch and it was so good.

I have CFS and have been unwell for about 18 months now but I’ve seen some tiny but important improvements over the past few months. I’m definitely better than I was this time last year, and that gives me hope I can keep on improving!

Got a load of reduced veg at the co op and made a batch of roast tomato and red pepper soup and a batch of courgette soup.

Cleared up two of the duller school holiday chores by taking the kids to get their hair cut and get fitted for school shoes.

Got some time to read.

Got outside after a long wet few days! So nice to finally get fresh air

And I fell asleep earlier and dozed for a bit! Awesome!

• we spent a morning outside with the kids made me happy spending time outside together

• dh has gone to collect the curry for tea

• I emptied the washing basket (no washing for me tomorrow 😁)

• had a lovely dog walk (on my own my dh or kids)

• I also had an hours bath it was amazing 🤩

DD, DH, and I had our usual morning snuggles.

Lovely bath and looking forward to a night with DH seeing in the New Year with nice drinks, snacks, TV and jigsaw.

We're not in the uk so had our 'xmas turkey' tonight.

• dh found cranberry sauce in the shops when package from the english shop didnt arrive
• ds who has asd tried and LOVED turkey!
• dd (previously traumatised at brownies when the program was cutting the heads off 2 live ducks and preparing them for Saint Mortens evening the week after) managed not to cry at the sight of a roast bird, after a while ate some bacon, then TRIED THE TURKEY AND LIKED IT
• we have fireworks tonight and we dont bormally bother
• I got some lovely table decorations
• my dsis' covid test was negative

My new phone came. I washed my old one in the washing machine before Christmas and it was unfixable.

Dh has come home from work for 4 days and he brought nice red wine

Ds has gone shopping for me (he's 19 and has a car) before he heads out for Hogmanay. Him and his pals have a table booked (in Scotland so it's table service for alcohol) and are planning on having a good night.

I've done ALL the laundry.

So it's a nice quiet few days, as all dc are out and it's just me and dh. Dd1 and her partner are isolating as he has COVID, dh is off to drop off a big shop for them that he did earlier. Ds is, as I said, off out and he's staying with his girlfriend tonight. Might see him tomorrow. Dd2 is spending new year with her boyfriend and his family. She's coming home on Sunday. So I'm going to phone my family and go to bed early. Not a great fan of new year (which is awful as I'm Scottish and it's a big deal here).
