What’s Everyone Doing For NYE?

Anyone up to anything? I used to party hard every NYE, doing a pub crawl in a local town in fancy dress. These days I’m happy staying in with DH & DD13, although she probably won’t be downstairs much. We’re having steak, chips & garlic mushrooms & I have a bottle of champagne ( DH doesn’t drink). Will probably watch a film & then the London fireworks. The bunnies will be staying inside so lots of cuddles ❤️🐰❤️🐰❤️🐰❤️🐰

We are just staying in with the dc who will go to bed at 8pm as usual. We will stay up to see the new year in.

We have sparklers and will light a little bonfire (might toast marshmallows) get a bit of music on.
Once dc are in bed we will watch a film and I will enjoy a drink. Considering dry Jan 🤔

Going to have a pyjama party with the DC, buffet food, play some of the games they got for Christmas, fake NYE countdown at 8 for the little DC, then a film with the older DC until the actual NYE countdown.

I’ll be working 6-11pm so will be home about 11:30 with luck, though I ended up getting home at 2am the other day.
But home, glass of wine with DP and then bed!

@BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation I was just telling DH about the fab parties we used to have in a flat next to Barrow in Furness railway station, about 30 yrs ago! As you were.

I'm a bit off from my booster, so I shall be in a cheese and tv coma. Wouldn't have been going out anyhoo, tbh.

I don't think i know anyone who has said anything different tbh. Even my older DCs!

Will be at home waiting for the bells. As i am Scottish I will have to clean today as I can’t tomorrow as it’s bad luck and your house must be clean forbthe new year. Don’t take last years dirt into the new year and god knows we could all do with leaving 2921 behind. We have drinks, I’ll cry a bit as I always do for absent friends m. Tomorrow we’ll have steak pie as it’s practically the law at new year.

We used to have huge house parties (Glasgow) friends and kids up til the morning.
Tonight staying in with just the kids, covid, the gift that keeps on giving :(

Work at 10pm, finish at 8am and then at least an hour's wait for a bus home because Sunday service.

Put some laundry

Drag the vacuum cleaner round.

Put laundry to dry and then sleep.

Having a party, seven folks coming, so ten of us, spag bol, garlic bread, and salad for dinner, loads of Prosecco and other booze, some singing and dancing I’d guess.

I'm at work today, will pick up my 14 month old DD on the way home. Bedtime has been horrendous this week so if she goes to bed okay I might suggest a weak G&t and a film to my DP before going to bed by 9pm ready for multiple night wakings. I might wake up and swear at midnight if I hear fireworks Angry
Excited to work through my to do list in my new diary on new year's day though Grin

I'm going to spend it with my oldest friends celebrating the fact that this time next year I shall be free of my narcassistic, abusive STBXH.

I'm not convinced 2022 will be my year exactly, but I'm holding out high hopes for 2023!
