Bored. Can I have a mum rant

Got no friends I can call so thought I’d have a little whinge here.

No food in so need to do a shop but eldest DD(5) pleaded to stay home and play and ‘Dad can go after work’. Said I’d give her 5 minutes to play and we’d get ready. Pop upstairs and she’s asleep in bed. Poor thing is obviously knackered from the excitement/family gatherings at xmas. No wonder she didn’t want to go out. Littlest monkey (5m) is being her usually clingy self which is fine except there’s no milk left for coffee. Thinking of diving into the pile of choccies instead but what is chocolate without coffee, besides this Christmas I’m putting on weight by the second 😂 all still in pyjamas and desperately need to brush my hair! The house is a tip but for once it’s not actually bothering me but now I’m bothered that I’m not bothered.
All lighthearted of course but no one else to tell. Anyone actually having a good day?

Sort of similar. Still in pjs but have managed to put a hair masque on. Dh has gone to visit the in-laws. Dd 2 will only nap in the cot so stuck here for that. Dd1 doesn’t want to go anywhere but we do need some kind of shopping. Feeling a bit blah and already eaten too much toast and been in the roses tin

Haven’t even made it to the choccies yet as DD1 woke up in a foul mood. I thought naps were meant to make you happy Confused

Same. Bored. And in Essex!
8mo asleep on they're long nap, house is a tip, can't be bothered to sort it. They've been whinging and easily upset all day, possibly due to teething but won't take painkillers, is off their milk and food poor mite.

Similar sort of boat. Trying to have a tidy up and a clean ready for food and games with the DC later. I've managed to fold some laundry and make some lunch but the floor is a mess, only one DC out of four is dressed, I'm sort of dressed but need to sort out my hair.

Youngest DC is marching around in just her knickers with a tub of Celebrations under her arm. Elder DC are plugged into the wifi and fully assimilated with the matrix by this point. Middle DC is "keeping dad company". Dad is WFH and probably regretting rhe life choices that led him to this moment as he is getting a stream of consciousness monologue from his child interspersed with questions about the work DH is doing and requests to "let me speak to IT for you, I know how to do it".

Ha! Pleasing to hear that I’m not alone. Both DD have settled now but its me being the hold up now, wrapped myself in a blanket and can’t be arsed to move. Will be getting to tesco by closing at this rate!

No morrisons prime unfortunately

I made it to the supermarket. It was packed and a bit of a smash and grab with everybody huffing and puffing behind their masks. All the dc in bed now and I’m eating ill advised cheesecake

Pinkflask · 31/12/2021 20:55

Probably too late but that situation called for “Christmas milk” (Bailey’s)

Essexmate · 31/12/2021 21:49

Christmas milk 🤣 love it

We didn’t make it out but DH let everyone finish early today so he did a small shop. DD2 is fast asleep but DD1 is trying her best to see in the new year
