Jobs you find attractive

I found the jobs that put you off thread interesting so thought I’d do the opposite-jobs that would help attract you to a partner (assuming they meet other criteria). Mine would be:
Vet
Nursery or primary school teacher
Architect (clever and arty but a sensible dependable job)
GP
Something in music/entertainment that meant I could go to occasional parties and meet celebrities but not be famous himself
TV/film writer or producer
Author
Scientist/academic in something interesting like medical or zoological/climate research
Anything that they are passionate about, pays a decent amount, allows wfh/flexibility, sociable hours

Others that sound interesting/sexy but realistically probably wouldn’t work:
Army officer/detective/ministry of defence/spy
Vicar (fleabag)
Surgeon, A&E doctor, air ambulance or army doctor
Famous actor/singer etc
Human rights lawyer

Hmmm, let's think.
Gardener.
Postie.
Martial arts instructor.

Ha, that thread... I had a bit of a crush on the funeral director that was at a funeral I went to recently. That role would not bother me at all!

CrimbleCrumble1 · 30/12/2021 20:59

I’ve got a thing about dentists.

Hot Priest was not a vicar, sacrilege!

Cluelessasacucumber · 30/12/2021 21:01

I've always though Farriers are the most attractive job! Animals, heritage crafts, big fore arms...

Dozer · 30/12/2021 21:02

‘Anything that they are passionate about, pays a decent amount, allows wfh/flexibility, sociable hours’.

I’d go with that, indeed minus the ‘passionate about’!

Fictional architects, perhaps, eg Tom Selleck in Three Men and a Baby!

GorgeousLadyofWrestling · 30/12/2021 21:18

I have such a thing about people who do any kind of tech job. I met my husband at work and he was in I.T and I used to make things go wrong on my PC so I had an excuse to see him.

Now, 16 years later, I work in a tech company and have a massive crush on my boss - who is gay! And I am married! - because he’s a software engineer and sometimes will say “Oh I’ll just build that, I’ll just build it, it’ll be easy” when I am lamenting about some tech tool or platform I need to buy. It does something funny to me BlushBlushBlush

This is all massively TMI but there you go Grin

woodlandarchitect · 30/12/2021 21:21

I could totally get caught in a daydream of having an office romance with a fictional architect over some A1 architectural sketches.

“Oops, did I just nudge your mechanical pencil on the tracing paper? Here let me rub that out for you”

Tree surgeon - boots, ropes and strong arms. What more could a girl ask for?

Same. I married one 😂 I think he looks really sexy in his scrubs 😍
woodlandarchitect · 30/12/2021 21:23

In real life, architects are very protective over their mechanical pencils, rulers and tracing paper 🤣

bonfireheart · 30/12/2021 21:24

"The one who got away" was an engineer who worked in polymer, oh the conversations we had about plastic!!

Houseofvelour · 30/12/2021 21:24
  • dentists
  • doctors
  • surgeons

Something about a man in a position of power in the medical industry really does it for me 🤷‍♀️

Lacedwithgrace · 30/12/2021 21:24

DH works in cyber security which I find attractive (the salary too)
Carpenter

Fridafever · 30/12/2021 21:25

Tree surgeon
Gardener

I’m married to an artist and that was part of the attraction definitely.

GTAlogic · 30/12/2021 21:31

Someone in a standard, dependable 9-5 job: steady income and predictable hours with holidays that aren't likely to be cancelled without notice.

I would not like to marry a Dr or anyone who is in the emergency or armed forces because I know people who do these jobs and they're always either at work or are about to go to work!

EssexLioness · 30/12/2021 21:32
  • positions of power and authority eg surgeon, lawyer (I know the reality is very different but I imagine them in court, battling thins out like they do on tv).
  • anything creative/ artistic eg poet, artist
  • architects, although again I think I am caught up in fantasy rather than reality!
  • anything that involves working with and helping animals
  • archaeologist/ paleontologist: I know the job itself is less exciting and action packed in reality but I instantly think of Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park. Plus I am fascinated in dinosaurs, fossils, history etc.

Basically, I think most of my answers revolve around tv depictions, rather than reality so I am not sure how helpful my answers are 😆
