Secret Santa - what is this?

A friend of mine received this in her work Secret Santa. She has no idea what it is and neither does anyone she has asked. Relevant info:

• It's from a Christmas market in Manchester, hence the bees
• It's made of wood or MDF
• It's too flimsy to be a trivet
• Length about 20 cm

Does anyone recognise it?

Is it a kind of hair slide?

A wine glass holder?

It looks like some kind of holder - like the middle bit should sit on a pole and something should fit into the ends
