Prettiest, easiest place to ski, never been, would like to go for Xmas. Can't do narrow dangerous winding roads though

Any suggestions? Somewhere safe, nice food? Austria?
Italy?

Levi Finland. Very safe, lots of blue runs on the slopes (also red and blacks for those who do want them), lots of non-skiing stuff eg husky trips, reindeer farms, snowshoeing, cross country skiing. Resort is half an hour from the airport with no windy roads (I hate those too). About 2.5 hours flight from the UK. We go most years, COVID-permitting, and love it there.

(Airport is Kittila by the way if you want to look into it). They also get about 1.5m of snow so no worries about not having enough, but just check average December temperatures before you book!

Morzine, France. Minimal windy roads as lower resort about 1hr from airport. V family friendly and proper town with lots of restaurants and shops and other things to see and do.

I recall scary, windy roads from a trip to Austria as a teen!

@Bearsbearsbears40

Oh wow thank you I would have never thought of that!
Is it's expensive there? And is there just one resort as it where, one place to go? Is there accmd you can recommend? Thank you.

I have to say it’s not cheap, but skiing is generally not a cheap holiday! There are a few resorts in Finland, Levi and Yllas are the two I know of, but they are bus rides away from one another so normally we just stick to one. Lots of accomm options, hotels include the Hullu Poro (Crazy Reindeer), Levi Spa Hotel (we always stay here), K5. Also self catering options - can be cheaper - try this website for some details: www.levi.fi/en/accommodation.html. I think there are Airbnbs now too but I haven’t tried any of those. We’ve booked both package and individual holidays and it’s always worked out fine, plus Finns tend to speak a lot of English which makes things very easy (although DH now speaks some Finnish which also helps!)

I have don't know why but I'm thinking morzine maybe prettier than levi but levi has all the extras

Oh and definitely pretty with the chance of seeing Northern Lights! (I promise I don’t work for the Finnish Tourist Board!) 😂😂
