Ds1 symptoms...pcr or not?

Ds1 (18) is feeling rough
Sneezing, congested, very tired and the runs...
Negative lft but should I get him a pcr based on the his symptoms?

Yes if he thinks he has symptoms he needs a PCR. LFTs are not reliable.
I had the same symptoms and I was positive.

Yeah that's why I was asking, really But I think the UK haven't updated the symptom checklist for the new variants

Yes, he does need one. You'll be told that its not the main 3 here though. Even though they have changed so much. It's really important to get tested, if he becomes unwell enough to need a GP they will not entertain him without knowing his covid status. Keep trying for PCRs they are released at random times.

So why does is ask you if you have the main 3 symptoms and if you answered no it would then presumably say you don't need a pcr!
