Learning to drive while moving away for uni

Hi,

I am wanting to learn to drive next year - due to covid and backlogs it will take some time to find an instructor with availiability and book theory /driving test.
I am also wanting to go to uni next year to study OT - is it possible to start learning with an instructor where I live and then move away particularly in the current situation with backlogs / driving instructor availiability?
Thank you :)

I don’t think it’s a problem to change instructors part way through. Sometimes a bit of variety can be quite useful. But, obviously, if none of the instructors at Uni have any availability, it may be hard to continue with instruction. I think calling around and finding out what waiting lists are like in the places you’re going to apply would probably be your best bet. Once you have offers, maybe you could sign up with instructors in each area to get on the waiting lists and then cancel the ones you don’t need when your place is confirmed.

Once you’ve had a few lessons, practice with family and friends as much as you can.

Your mum already started this thread for you.

Interestingly, using the same account. But she reckons you’re not that keen on learning Confused
