I'm just trying to recall a book I read as an older child / early adolescent. I think it was a story of three princes sent out on missions by their father: the oldest with gold, the middle with silver, and the youngest with some thing useless, but each time the youngest prevails through his wit or kindness, something like that. Trees? Riding horses across oceans? Can anyone help me in this? Thanks in advance.
