When does wine go off?

Hi, I don't drink but want to get rid of the wine I've been given. Some bottles have been here a few years.
Is the attached ok to pass on or has it gone off?

When does wine go off?

Depends what you mean by 'pass on'. You could give it to people but if you thinking of selling it forget it.

A wine like that is really meant to be drunk quite soon after it's bottled, so it will be a bit iffy by now. It's only certain reds that age well , although some white will keep for a year or so.

Pass on not sell.

It’s unlikely to go off. It may not be at its best anymore but if it’s chilled on a hot sunny day no one is likely to care

Providing it's been kept cool and and in a dark place ( and unopened of course) it will probably still be ok but perhaps not at its best .
If your going to a party and wine / beer / spirts are flowing it would be ok , as a special gift for someone perhaps not so much

I would probably use it for a pudding like Nigella's raspberries in wine jelly, or to mix it up with something else for a summer drink. It won't poison anyone though Smile

Kept in the dark and cool.
No not a special gift.
I've told the people I've given them to that I know nothing about wine.
That these are going to waste in my house they are welcome to them and if they taste crap bin them and let me know.
So, people know they aren't special gifts.
