New iPhone doing something weird

I've just finished setting up my new iPhone and something weird is happening. My old mobile is also an iPhone and I'm transferring the old sim to the new phone. When I'm on wifi and I get a voice call, whichever phone has the sim sends the call to the other phone, and I can answer from either phone. (I cannot make calls from the sim-less phone.)

How do I stop this happening?

It’s because your iCloud is active an your old phone. There’s an option to take calls on all devices with the same iCloud.
My iPad rings when my phone rings.

On your new phone you need to fine the “take calls on other devices” option and switch that off

Thank you Smile

This is one of the joys of Mumsnet. People say "Why don't you just Google? Why don't you just call Apple Support?" Because on MN you get a simple and straightforward answer from a nice human being.

Go into settings on the new one, phone, then into “calls on other devices”. My eldest inherited my old phone when I upgraded and took ages to find it 😂 her friends were very confused to have her mum answer.
